Chemical peels & microdermabrasion treatments enhance almost all skin types and conditions. Lighten up your face and give it a boost! There is a spectrum of treatments

that avail different results, but here are some helpful tips to get the best results.

Pre treatment Instructions

•Clients with a history of herpes must pre-medicate with Valtrex.

•Clients with active cold sores or warts, wounded or sunburned skin is contraindicated.

•Clients with a history of allergies, rashes or other skin reactions may be sensitive to treatment.

•Clients with allergies to salicylates (i.e., aspirin) or shellfish may be allergic to certain peels.

•Clients that have taken Accutane or received Chemotherapy or radiation therapy within the past year should receive prior authorization from their physician.

•Clients with Vitiligo should not receive chemical peels.

•Clients with a history of auto-immune disease or any condition that weakens the immune system should check with their physician before receiving a peel.

•Stopping Retin-A aka “Tretinoin, Tazorac, Differin, Triluma, Renova” to name a few, two days before peel appointment is optimal.

•If you just had BOTOX or injectable fillers (i.e. Juvederm, Radiesse), it is perfectly fine to have a peel immediately after. If you choose to have Microdermabrasion with the peel, it is best to wait a few days before getting your treatment. It is fine to have a peel or Microdermabrasion before BOTOX and/or injectable filler.

•Wait a week before or after having facial hair removal (waxing/laser hair removal/electrolysis, and depilatory creams).

•Advise skin care specialist of any skin conditions (i.e.: Psoriasis, Ezcema, Rosacea). Yes, you can have a peel if you have Rosacea. There are special peels for this condition.

•If you have a special event, like a wedding, do not receive any kind of facial or peel treatments for two weeks prior to this engagement.

Post treatment Instructions

•Immediately following treatment take extra precaution to guard against exposure to sun. This means 30 SPF and large brimmed hat (not a visor or baseball cap).

•Please do not cleanse your skin for a minimum of 6 hours

•Days 2 through 6 avoid harsh cleansers, scrubs, Clarisonic (or any other scrubbing brushes), washcloths, Retin-A, AHAs, or Benzoyl Peroxide.

•Pat skin dry/do not rub.

•DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN, as scarring and hyperpigmentation (brown spots) can occur.

•Apply Clini Calm over treated areas to minimize redness, itching, irritation and hyperpigmentation (optional). If you have a darker skin tone, this is not optional.

•It is safe to wear makeup the same day depending on the level of peel. Aggressive peels, avoid makeup for 3 days.

•Avoid strenuous exercise (i.e.: Hot Yoga) with aggressive peels, as sweat gets trapped under the skin leaving little water bubbles.

•Do not have any other facial treatments/procedures for at least one week after peel or until flaking stops.

NOTE: Everyone will not experience peeling of their facial skin. However, this is not an indication that the peel was ineffective. If peeling does not occur please know that you are still receiving all the benefits of the peel, such as: stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminished fine lines and pigmentation.

Hair Removal  Pre Treatment

  • The area to be treated must be clean-shaven. Unshaven clients will be rescheduled.

  • Avoid UV exposure 7 days prior to your treatment.

  • Clients who are sunburned or tanned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional
skin damage.

exfoliate the area to remove any residual color.

laser hair removal treatments.

physician prior to receiving laser treatments if you are taking a long-term antibiotic. If you become ill and begin taking an antibiotic, you will need to be off the medication for 7 days before laser treatment.
